Season 28 Premieres tonight with “Monty Burns’ Fleeing Circus”!

The very first episode of the 28th Season of The Simpsons premieres tonight at 8/7c on FOX! “Monty Burns’ Fleeing Circus” will kickstart the season, with Amy Schumer as Mr. Burns’ mother. Al Jean reports to Voice of TV and Uproxx: “We said a good character for our plot would be that she’s Burns’ mother in the past and kind of the source of this unhappiness that he has that’s haunted him to the present. She recorded it over the phone, and she was very funny. It’s not a huge part, but that was because we didn’t have the actress until a little late in the process that we knew who was going to be in all three shows.” There will also be a reference to The Blues Brothers.

Season 28 News: New details on “The Nightmare After Krustmas” have been revealed

Season_28_iTunes_logoRabbi Krustofski, Krusty‘s father, died two seasons ago in the episode “Clown in the Dumps“. Hovewer it was just announced that in Season 28, in the episode “The Nightmare After Krustmas”, airing December 11, 2016, he’ll appear.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Al Jean spoke about the episode, where Krusty converts to Christianity, after an incident with Sophie (voiced by Natasha Lyonne), and gets trapped in some ice after being baptized in the winter. In a allucination, his father will appear.

Al Jean says to Entertainment Weekly: “Krusty is nearly going to die, so his mind flashes to the hackiest thing it can think of which is a Frozen parody, and then he sees his dad and his dad talks to him in this hallucination. It’s the last thing Krusty sees before he’s about to die.”

Al Jean however confirms Krusty is not dying in this episode: “I’m hoping fans are even angrier we bring him back” referring to the disappointment in the fans when they found out who died in Clown in the Dump.

Regarding the Rabbi’s death, Al Jean reported to EW last year, “We told the actor that didn’t mean the end of his part in the show. He certainly could come back as a memory of Krusty.”

In this episode, Sophie comes back, voiced by Orange Is the New Black’s actress Natasha Lyonne of Orange Os the New Black, and Al Jean reports “She has converted to Christianty and he really disappoints her, so he converts to try to get her love back.”

Season 28 News: Details about “The Caper Chase” have been revealed

More news have been revealed about the Season 28 episode “The Caper Chase“.

The story’s plotline is a satire of Donald Trump and Trump University.

The personal financial guru Suze Orman, the American astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson and the creative writing instructor Robert McKee will teach at Mr. Burns’ new school.

Al Jean says to TVLine: “We have a great episode where Burns goes to Yale and discovers, much to his horror, how politically correct it is, so he starts his own college, Burns University, which is similar to another billionaire’s university you might have heard of lately.”

Al Jean also mentions Trump is aware of his Simpsonised version: “There’s a photo of him signing a poster which was [made from] the first spot we did on him a year ago, which was not so flattering, but he’s autographing it for somebody. I think his problem is that he doesn’t like criticism, but of course, he’s opened himself up for more than any human will ever get in all of history.”
