Season 29 News: A new episode title has been revealed!

The list of episodes continues to fill up, as the title of the ninth episode of the 29th production season (XABF09) has been revealed. It is titled “Left Behind“!

The episode will air during the 29th broadcast season (2017/18 TV season).

SD Comic-Con 2017: Panel Highlights

The Simpsons has just finished their panel at the San Diego Comic-Con 2017 and here are the highlights, courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter.

The panel started with Matt Groening, turning the discussion to President Donald Trump, showing the “Donald Trump’s First 100 Days In Office” video.

He continues talking about how 21st Century Fox asking to taking it easy on Fox News after a joke that dubbed them “not racist, but No. 1 with racists.”

Matt adds “Then Bill O’Reilly called us pinheads and look what happened,” just before asking the crowd to chant a new take on the “Lock her up” chant used in reference to Hillary Clinton by the conservaties.

Matt Selman continues commenting on their take on Trump’s actions: “Our show holds up a Springfield mirror to society so that never fails to inspire us.”

Al Jean afterwards reveals they’ll do a Bob’s Burgers couch gag in Season 29, saying “Now you have no reason to turn your TV off between them and us anymore.”

Additionally, Groening revealed that artist Bill Plympton will be doing a second couch gag for the series.

They next revealed guest stars for the season, including Shaquille O’Neal, Martin Short, Kelsey Grammer as Sideshow Bob and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, whose character Al Jean teased “has a very inappropriate relationship with one of the Simpsons.”

David Silverman is working on an episode where the family travels to New Orleans for JazzFest, and Al Jean talked about an episode set in Lisa’s future “You see where she might wind up and she might end up with a woman,” and an episode where they’ll re-imagine Stephen King’s It but with Krusty.

The team was asked about Bartman and Matt Groening joked “We didn’t realize superheroes were so popular,” before saying “One day he’ll come back.”

Bart Simpson also appeared live, doing a Q&A with the crowd, answering his favorite curse word (“boosum”) and the City of San Diego’s recent less (“Screw the Chargers, am I right?”), just before Nancy Cartwright appeared and joined the crew.

Al Jean revealed the show will be back on DVD, starting with Season 18 on December 5th, including commentaries, extras and deleted scenes, revealing Season 18’s dvd cover, with a shot of Fat Tony, and just after the voice actor, Joe Mantegna, joined the panel.

Matt Groening gave away some gifts for the fans that asked questions, just before showing a preview of the Treehouse of Horror XXVIII segment “The Exor-Sis”, which closed the panel.

12:23 – Al Jean confirms that commentaries for Seasons 18-20 have been recorded and the S20 ones will soon be available on Simpsonsworld.com!

12:26 – “How did you react to Homer being inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame?” “They must’ve lowered their standards.”

12:37 – A future episode could show a timeline where Lisa is married to a woman.

12:39 – Chants against Trump (“Lock Him Up”) are heard in the room!

12:43 – Lucky fans at #SDCC2017 panel are viewing an EXCLUSIVE first look at this year’s Treehouse of Horror! (Spoiler: Maggie gets possessed) The segment is called “The Exor-Sis”.

12:45 – And the panel is over for this year!

SD Comic-Con 2017: ‘The Simpsons’ panel in 3 hours!

Comic-Con 2017The San Diego Comic-Con 2017 started last Thursday and today will take place most of the panels of FOX’s shows, including The Simpsons. The panel will take place between 12pm and 12.45pm (San Diego time).

We’ll do a post with the highlights of the panel after the event. The post will be created minutes after the panel starts in case some info gets to the media before the end of the panel. Minutes after the panel ends, the post will have the highlights of the event.

Season 29 News: New information has been revealed!

A new detail about Season 29 has been revealed, regarding a featured couch gag, during Bob’s Burgers’ Comic-Con Panel!

Meanwhile the writers of the record-breaking 636th (in production order) episode, “Lisa Gets the Blues”, have been revealed.

The episode, written by David Silverman and Brian Kelley, will air during the 29th broadcast season (2017/18 TV season).

Season 29 News: Two new episode titles have been revealed!

The list of episodes continues to fill up, as the title of the tenth and eleventh episodes of the 29th production season (XABF10 and XABF11) have been revealed.

The title of the first episode is “King Leer“.

The title of the second episode is “Lisa Gets the Blues“.

The episodes will air during the 29th broadcast season (2017/18 TV season).

Season 29 News: A new Special Guest announced, plus a joke change?

A new guest star for Season 29 has been revealed as Nikolaj Coster-Waldau joins the list, in the episode “The Serfsons“!

Matt Selman in an interview with EntertainmentWeekly said about the episode as “a love letter to the fantasy genre of books and movies and TV shows.”

Regarding the character played by Nikolaj, Matt hints: “He plays a character not unlike Jamie. He has a surprising and sexy connection to one of the main characters.”

Matt says also regarding Game of Thrones and characters and actors appearances on the show: “We would love to have all of them — hopefully we don’t wait too long before they’re all killed. They’re all terrific. Peter Dinklage has an amazing voice. We’re just nerds who want to meet our nerd heroes.”

Season 29 premieres on October 1st.

On further note, a scene for an episode of Season 29 was going to have Sideshow Mel say that they want a female Doctor Who, with the crowd agreeing and chanting with him.

The scene would have appeared in the episode “Homer Is Where the Art Isn’t“.

Matt Selman’s deleted twitter said “Show 5 Homer is where the art isn’t”.

(*Note: Show 5 means XABF05)

The joke is likely going to be changed in the episode though, as on July 16, 2017, Jodie Whittaker was announced to be the Thirteenth Doctor.
