It is currently unknown if Taylor has recorded for any season 31 episodes or what, if anything, will happen to her characters. In the past, characters have been retired from the show when their voice actors died.
Big news have been announced in the show’s panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2019! Executive producer Al Jean has revealed that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will finally release the 19th season of “The Simpsons” on DVD this December 3, two years after it last put Season 18 on sale.
According to Variety, “The Season 19 DVD includes 20 episodes and features “collectible Homer Simpson packaging,” Jean said. There are also custom menus on every disc, along with commentary on every episode, he added.
That will finally give fans a complete set of the first 20 seasons. For a long time it looked like DVD collectors would be out of luck, as “The Simpsons” had been on a regular DVD release schedule up until Season 17 in December 2014. And then production halted on any future seasons.””
12:30 – A comment on the show being available in the upcoming Disney+ streaming service.
"The world of television is streaming. We are going to be on Disney+ with all the Marvel shows and I couldn’t think of a better place where we could be.” – showrunner @AlJean on the Disney merge. #TheSimpsons#SDCC
A new Guest Star has been announced for the Season 31 episode “The Fat Blue Line” and three more has been announced for unknown episodes of the season.
Jason Momoa will appear as himself appearing at the San Castellaneta festival.
Al Jean commented: “He is the celebrity that shows up and talks about this legend of this saint who was ground up and martyred and became the origin of modern-day pistachio ice cream. He tells this very gruesome story — and then Patty and Selma want him to sign their boobs and he runs away.”
Al Jean continues in the interview with Entertainment Weekly about the recording session: “We would hear, ‘Oh, he’s filming on a top of a mountain or he’s filming under the water’. It was hard to get him in a studio that was within the terrestrial realm.”
The show will be at Comic-Con in San Diego this Friday, and they announced that John Mulaney and Dr. Jane Goodall will guest star in upcoming episodes.
Bob Odenrick, Saul Goodman in the tv series Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, will guest star in the episode.
Entertainment Weekly reports he’ll appear in the episode as Fat Tony’s lawyer, sporting a ring similar to his character, Saul Goodman’s.
Al Jean commented: “He charges by the minute so he speaks… really… slowly. He just wants money for talking to Fat Tony”.
The episode involves pickpocketing sting operation and the Simpsons patriarch. Al Jean explains “Homer is the mark because he’s got such a big butt so he’s a good target for pickpocketing. Fat Tony is arrested but he didn’t do it — and he has to find out who did do it”.
