Bong Joon Ho’s ‘This Side of Parasite
In a parody of the 2019 South Korean film Parasite, the Simpsons live in a squallid basement apartment and aim to change their life after Bart is hired as a tutor to Rainer Wolfcastle. Afterwards, Wolfcastle hires Homer as chauffeur, Marge as the house maid, Lisa as an art teacher, and Maggie as groundskeeper. However a fight occurs between them and the secretly workers living in the house, Kirk and Luann, the other “parasites”.
Bambi
In a parody of the film Bambi, it’ll include a grousome twist on Bambi’s story.
Nightmare on Elm Tree
In a parody of the film A Nightmare on Elm Street, trees have revenge on Springfielders. It includes references to “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Little Shops of Horros” and “The Wizard of Oz”. Tree Rollins will guest star
Poetic Interlude
A voice will read “The Telltale Bart” with animations illustrating the tale.
The Ringer
In a parody of the film series The Ring, the kids at Springfield Elementary find out that all that watch TikTok videos will die in seven days, while Lisa plans to stop TikTok from killing people.

Maggie joins the mob, Bart saves a goat from satanists, and Homer and Marge are more naked and afraid than you’ve ever seen them — 700 episodes and still counting episodes! Guest stars include Kristen Bell, The Weeknd, John Lithgow, Kerry Washington, Beck Bennett, Brian Cox and many more!

Four posters and new info for the upcoming 1st episode of Season 33, titled “The Star of the Backstage“, have been released in a first look on the episode by TV Insider. The episode airs this Sunday, September 26, 2021.

In the interview, Matt Selman calls the episode “an end-of-the-world musical… [and] a funny little cultural flashback” and remarks about Marge how “She’s nostalgic for a time when she was more than a mom. And then, in restaging the show, she realizes, ‘Oh god, I was the [theater group’s] mom.’ Which to me, that’s the special emotional weirdness, true, sad, real thing, that is the core of the episode that I love the most — you try and relive the past, and you then you end up ruining the past.”
As noted previously, Sara Chase will guest star as Sasha Reed and the episode will feature seven songs, including homages to musicals like Chicago, Wicked, The Music Man and Rent.
In The Star of the Backstage, writer Elisabeth Kiernan Averick talks about how in it, “They march down the streets to go to the high school as Marge is like, ‘We’re putting on the show!'”, while in Fraud-way, “That’s when Marge gets green with envy”.
Matt Selman notes at the end how “The emotions of the songs need to evoke, as opposed to jokety, joke, joke, joke… but they are funny”.
