Lego Dimensions – The Simpsons Confirmed Sets

Lego Dimensions, a new Lego video game, comes out at the end of September and The Simpsons is represented in the game with three different sets and a level in the starter pack.

Lego Dimensions features collectible real life sets that can be used in the game to get new content, including characters, vehicles and levels. Each set has to be bought separately from the base game, which has some content in already.

The three sets include one level pack and two fun packs. The level pack includes Homer Simpson and the two fun packs have Bart Simpson and Krusty the Clown.

The Simpsons will have a level in the starter pack where Lord Business from The Lego Movie teams up with The Joker from DC Comics to take over Springfield. No The Simpsons characters are playable in this level without the expansion sets.

Lego Dimensions Maggie
It is unconfirmed at the moment whether any more The Simpsons sets will be released but a character list that had blurred characters has one blur resembling Maggie Simpson. So it is possible that she will become playable in a later set.

For all the details on The Simpsons content, see our article.

Harry Shearer Returns to The Simpsons!

Voice actor Harry Shearer has returned to the show after seemingly quitting seven weeks ago. The actor, who voices many characters in The Simpsons, said that he quit the show over having little freedom to do other things.

Shearer has signed the same contract as the other main cast members, which is a four season contract which is estimated to earn each cast member more than $300,000 per episode.

It was feared by fans of the show that his characters could be recast as Al Jean stated that if Shearer did not sign on by the end of Summer at the latest, his characters would be recast to different voice actors.

Shearer quitting due to not having enough freedom to do other things is possibly because in a period where Harry Shearer thought he had a break from the show, but the producers requested material from him as they were unaware of this arrangement. Even if this was the case, it’s been cleared up now and Shearer’s back.

Homer and Marge Are NOT Breaking Up For Good!!!

There has been a lot of rumors flying around the Internet that Homer and Marge will be breaking up for good in season 27. This has come from a recent interview with Variety (which you can read here) where Al Jean said “Homer and Marge legally separate”. Okay, now read that quote again. “Homer and Marge legally separate”. Where in that does it say “for good”, “for a season-long arc”, “forever”? Oh, yeah… NOWHERE!

Why the media have taken this and blown it up is beyond me. When has The Simpsons ever done a season long arc? Plot points very rarely extend longer than an episode. Homer and Marge have had trouble with their marriage in the past. But they have always gotten through it.

Also, I would like to point out that the information for this episode, which is the season 27 premiere “Every Man’s Dream” in which Homer and Marge separate has been known since January. That’s 5 months! It’s been known for 5 months that they will separate and it is only just brought up now!

Homer and Marge are not separating for longer than an episode so stop believing the crap the media is spreading.

Duff Beer to get international release

Duff Beer is set to get an international release. The fictional beer has been on sale in The Simpsons parts of Universal Studios Hollywood and Orlando. Now 20th Century Fox plans on releasing the beer for sale over the US and Europe.

Jeffery Godsick, the Consumer Products president of 20th Century Fox, said in an interview with the Irish Sun that “You will enjoy it at home and eventually at bars. We are treating this as real beer, not a novelty.”

In the past, Matt Groening has expressed worry at Duff going for sale as it could promote drinking among kids, as a huge amount of children watch the show.
